Classic Disney Postcard

The

Catalogue

Publisher: Klösz

Country: Hungary (Budapest)

Publication Era: 1930s

Notes:

With those grotesque, elongated limbs, this is a decidedly odd series of Mickey Mouse images. Why anyone would want to create pictures like these is beyond my comprehension. There is no mention of any sort of license on the back of the cards, so I'm guessing that Klösz operated illegally.

The artist's name 'Bisztriczky' appears on the front of the cards. My research reveals no information about this artist. It is tempting to associate Bisztriczky with the famous Hungarian violinist Tibor Bisztriczky (1908-1983). Maybe he tried his hand as a cartoonist in his spare time. However, I can find no evidence whatsoever to support this idea.

Back of the postcards with the lone text "Klösz, Budapest"
